Foods from around the world include: Ayurvedic East Indian, Cuban, West Indian Ital, Ethiopian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese Macrobiotic, Mexican, Mediterranean, Italian and American.

I've been a professional Vegan plant-based personal chef for 25 years.
Growing up in an indigenous Cuban family with the fragrance of spices and sofrito wafting in the air, my love for cooking started at a young age. I became a strict vegan in my late teens after witnessing factory farm abuse videos shared with me by an organization called Food Not Bombs. At 16 years old, I made my commitment of becoming a strict vegan, going on 29 years now. I started cooking vegan foods at a young age, in a neverending discovery of plant-based foods from all around the world. My journey continued when I found the teachings of Rastafari culture and its natural way of life, called Livity, which I've embraced until this day.
I was enamored by the vitality and energy of the Living Foods diet, and created my first line of vegan grab-n-go called Guardin D' Lights in 1999, serving up my live food delicacies as Sedona, Arizona's first Raw Foods chef. My inspiration at the time was crafting a living where I could support my family and closely raise my firstborn son Gyasi—and doing my part to uplift the health of my family and community.
As my vegan chef career unfolded, I went on to be the vegan raw food chef for many yoga and meditation retreats including one of Queen Afua’s Fasting Shut-in events in Brooklyn, NY. Along this wonderful journey, I became the head chef and recipe creator for Sedona's first Raw Food Vegan Restaurant, the Sedona Raw Cafe (which later became Chocolatree ), as well as the behind-the-scenes head chef at D'Lish Very Vegetarian Restaurant in Sedona and the Creator and Chef of Raw Fridays at The Blue Nile Ethiopian Restaurant in Tempe, AZ.
Through the years I’ve also had the pleasure of being the founding chef and garden designer/director at The Sanctuary and Angel Valley Retreat Centers in Sedona. I was able to fully embrace farm-to-table cooking, feeding guests fresh vegetables, herbs, and flowers I not only picked from the garden but planted myself from specialty organic seeds.
Throughout the years it's been a joy to prepare delicious fare for meditation groups, retreats, weddings, and events in Arizona and abroad.
In 2014, I created Vital Vegan, a delectable and fresh line of grab-and-go foods I offered at local stores from Flagstaff, Sedona to Phoenix. I’ve also delighted in preparing beautiful Ayurvedic-style meals for VIP clients in Sedona for many years in clients' homes as well as providing meal delivery services.
A highlight of my vegan chef career has been being the vegan chef/caterer of the Kryon Conference in Sedona for two consecutive years and being able to nourish up to 600 attendees, with the help of my 17-year-old son Menelik as sous chef and catering coordinator!

I work closely with my clients to understand their tastes and preferences, and I use my creativity to craft unique and delicious meals that they will love. I consider myself an Intuitive Chef and create my own signature recipes in the moment.
As a personal chef, I offer a range of services, including meal planning, grocery shopping, in-home cooking, as well as meal delivery. I can accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences, including low glycemic, gluten-free, and paleo. Whether you need a catered large scale event or a week's worth of meals, I am here to help.
